We believe this is the back bone of any good HVAC company. Completing a proper Preventative Maintenance on any type of equipment, big or small, keeps efficiency rates up, thus saving you money. HVAC systems in typical commercial buildings are responsible for more than 40 percent of total energy use. Customers who incorporate a good maintenance package have saved from 15 to 20 % more than those without. Keeping HVAC systems running properly and at peak efficiency is the first step in managing your energy use. Repairs can be attended to quickly and efficiently with less down time. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.
A: Most definitely. A good maintenance is the difference of a couple of hundred dollars versus thousands to repair the equipment, plus any down time of the equipment. The idea of a Preventative Maintenance is to:
- Maintain Equipment
- Prevent Equipment from failure by investigating the unit and locating problem issues before they occur.
- Multiple visits, usually quarterly, helps technicians to catch worn or broken parts before damages spread.
- Maintaining clean filters helps promote good air quality and prevents build up on evaporators which can cause loss of efficiency and improper heating and cooling and long term damages.
- Efficiency is maintained with the proper maintenance.
Most people believe this to be a money scam, and in some cases I am sure they have good reason. Zone Mechanical offers a detailed report of all findings and quick summary about the effects of future damage or current issues. The list can go a mile long so make sure you get on a preventative maintenance schedule and, if you already have one in place, ensure it meets your needs and requirements.
A: When it comes to replacing equipment, Energy audits and research in government grants can determine the cost of replacement and the return of investment. In most cases, moving forward with today's new more efficient equipment it is always considered a good solution.
A: Is the Grass greener on the other side of the fence? There is really no right answer in this question, in my experience it comes down to personal preference. All these manufactures and others as well make great energy savings equipment.
A: In many older buildings or factories it is normal to find old equipment that is no longer running efficiently. Our technicians have found that in many buildings old regulators are allowing gas to pass through them causing their gas consumption to increase. On old regulators the diaphragms dry up or fail and do not perform as they were designed. On average we suggest changing them every 10 years.
